Phished HCC Accounts

Description: HCC accounts have been compromised and used to send out spam messages.

Action: To prevent compromises:

• DO NOT email your passwords to others or even to yourself via other accounts.
• DO NOT allow your web browser to save your passwords.
• DO NOT use public access computers to check your email.
• Utilize the Private Browsing feature in Mozilla Firefox.
• Change your password to a strong one that is difficult to break.  Make sure it has letters, numbers and at least one special character (such as !@#$%^&*).

Background Information: There has been a recent rash of phishing scams targeted at UH/HCC email account holders.
